CA Prop 8 Overturned

Some religionists and others who believe that discrimination against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender folk should be legal will of course appeal. The fight isn't over.

But they'll be met with legions of us who believe in our hearts that equal protection under the law means everyone is included. That's who we are in America, that's who we really are.

The bigger issue here is that the voters of California spoke and the judicial system overturned their wishes. In America, the legislative branch make law, not the judicial branch. A vote by the people is supposed to mean something, as well. Regardless of your political persuasion, this sets a very scary precedent. The Gay and Lesbian population does not seek our tolerance, they want our acceptance, too. These are two different things and it boggles my mind that most Americans don't grasp this concept. I believe it is moral to show respect and compassion for all people. All Americans have the right to their moral beliefs and I don't understand why the opinions of Christians continue to be trampled. Oh I forgot.................Christians are the last people in America that it is O.K. to discriminate again. Oh......them AND the fat people...........forgot them!
